BULLHEAD CITY - A Bullhead City neighborhood meeting is scheduled for 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at 2249 Clearwater Drive, Suite C. The meeting is being held to provide updated information on the Laughlin-Bullhead City Bridge project study and solicit comments from area stakeholders regarding concerns or potential impacts associated with the Riverview Alternative and Rotary Park.
Brief presentations will be given at 4 p.m. and at 6 p.m. with time provided afterward for questions and answers.
This meeting will discuss specific design elements that are proposed along the Riverview Drive alternative as they relate to Rotary Park and nearby residences and businesses. The intent is to provide residents and other area stakeholders an opportunity to further detail potential concerns regarding impacts to Rotary Park and the adjacent area. The comment period for this meeting closes June 13.
The purpose of the bi-state project is to provide a river crossing in addition to the existing Laughlin Bridge; accommodate present and future traffic demand within Laughlin and Bullhead City; improve congestion on State Route 95 including north-south traffic flows and overall circulation within Bullhead City; enhance regional connectivity between Laughlin and Bullhead City; and improve access and delivery of emergency services to the region in a manner that is safe, reliable and cost-effective while avoiding, minimizing and mitigating effects on the communities and the environment.
Federal, state and local agencies are working together on the project. The group includes the interdisciplinary development team comprised of the Nevada Department of Transportation in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administrations in both Nevada and Arizona, the Arizona Department of Transportation, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, Clark County, the Town of Laughlin, Mohave County and the city of Bullhead City. |
