BULLHEAD CITY - In all industries, the more employees know, the more valuable they are. Area residents have an opportunity, beginning in late August, to become skilled in dealing any of four casino games through training offered at Mohave Community College.
“The casino gaming industry is growing nationally, and well-trained dealers are in high demand from Nevada to the Mississippi River and at Native American-owned resorts all over the country,” MCC Division Chairman Clayton Steenberg said. “MCC's program provides the training for people to begin a new career or enhance their value in the industry.”
Training is being offered in poker, blackjack, roulette and dice (craps). Classes begin Sept. 15 and run three to four weeks for poker and blackjack. Roulette starts Sept. 22 as a day class only.
A second round of classes, including dice, begins in mid-October.
Each class is three or four credits and results in a certificate of completion from MCC. The graduate is eligible for hire at casinos with the certificate.
For more information or to register for class, visit the Bullhead City campus of MCC at 3400 Highway 95 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday or call 928-758-3926. |
