BULLHEAD CITY - Friday night, the Local Soroptimists hosted the first “Ye Gotta Regatta” party at Bullhead City Community Park.

Their goal: To find the best bartender in the Tri-state.

With several bars sending their best bartender to compete and those bartenders providing a signature rum beverage, the evening was a huge success for the Soroptimist's in their fundraising efforts to advancing the status of women and human rights for women and girls both locally and internationally. Three rounds were completed, and the best bartender from each round went on to the fourth and final round based on the tips they collected from attending patrons that evening. The evening commenced with a last call and the winners being announced and prizes awarded.

The best bartender in the Tri-state is Kristen Stevenson from the Oatman Hotel. Second place was awarded to Ray Angerbauer from the Edgewater Casino and third place was wrapped up by Anthony Pantoges from the Aquarius Casino Resort. Kristen will enjoy an over $600 prize package including a suite hotel stay, golf, massages, dining and much more provided by Laughlin Ranch.

Angerbauer will be out on an adventure weekend provided by Extreme Adventure Tours and Wet-n-Wild. Pantoges will treat several friends to a kayak party down the Colorado River provided by Desert River Kayak and Iguana's Mexican Cantina.

Stevenson came to the competition with intent to win as she expressed to coordinator of the event and local Soroptimist Kim Cool.

Cool said when she first met Kristen she knew she was going to add a special flair to the competition. “She told me, ‘my patrons will be there' and asked a lot of questions before showing up that evening as winning was the only reason she was going to be there.

For what will you best remember pop icon Michael Jackson?
His music. From the Jackson Five to a solo career to collaborating with nearly every major star, he did it all.
His dancing. He put so much energy and creativity into his performances.
His showmanship. Glitzy costumes, pyro-technics and cutting edge ideas all were a part of his persona.
His weirdness. He was talented for sure, but he also was strange.
