FIREWATCH: Two firefighters with the Golden Shores Fire Department work to extinguish remaining hot spots from a massive fire that consumed close to 300 acres Monday night in Mohave Valley. The fire started from a lightning strike and flying embers from the Needles fire. Multiple agencies responded and worked throughout the night Monday and the day Tuesday to get the fire under control. It was reportedly 50 percent contained my mid-day Tuesday and officials hoped to have it completely contained today. CAT SMITH/The Daily News
