Animal shelter benefits from Fender’s Halloween party

Rosie Ramos (l), manager at Fender’s River Road Resort, presents Deanna Johnson, animal control officer of the Needles Animal Shelter, with $500 raised during a taco and margarita fundraiser held in the resort’s ample recreation building on Halloween. Donations were also accepted via an online account set up for the occasion. Fender’s is located on the Colorado River along Needles Highway just north of National Old Trails Road. Both are original alignments of Route 66. Having acquired Northshore RV Resort next door over the summer, the riverfront park offers a wealth of amenities and is now up to 142 spaces for recreational vehicles of all sizes and types.
