PHOENIX — The public can learn more about groundwater remediation at the Pacific Gas and Electric Topock Compressor Station in a pair of informal open-house presentations set for Tuesday and Wednesday, April 17 and 18. Both continue from 5 to 7 p.m; on Tuesday at the Needles Regional Senior Center, 1699 Bailey Ave. at Lilyhill Drive; and on Wednesday at Golden Shores Community Recreation Center, 13136 Cove Pkwy. in Topock.
Construction is to begin on the project later this year. Posters, project experts, and a hands-on 3D physical model will be available to illustrate the project and how it will be implemented. The events are hosted by the U.S. Department of the Interior, with support from the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, PG&E, and others. Contact Pamela S. Innis, Topock Project Manager, U.S. Department of the Interior, One North Central Avenue, Suite 800, Phoenix, AZ 85004-4427.
