Attend meeting for Hot Boat, Custom Car Show Jan. 23

The next planning session for the 11th annual Route 66 Hot Boat and Custom Car Show will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23. All are urged to attend, especially those who may volunteer for the event. The meeting begins at noon in the Giggling Cactus Restaurant along Needles Highway. Pictured, acres of hotrods fill the parking lot of Jack Smith Park during last year’s show. Visit the chamber at Front and G Street or call 760-326-2050 for sponsorship opportunities, registration or information. The show features food, beverage and various other vendors in addition to some of the most beautiful, unusual, fastest and loudest boat and auto entries in the country. Ancillary events include a taco dinner and registration party at the Elks Lodge and a golf tournament on nearby River’s Edge Golf Course. The Needles Chamber of Commerce is registering entrants, sponsors and volunteers for this year’s event, to be held Feb. 22 and 23.
