NEEDLES – Doogie Harvey is headed to North Dakota State College of Science after signing his letter of intent to play football for the Wildcats.
“I’m excited to play at NDSCS,” stated an elated Harvey. “Their football program feels like the one we have here with the players and coaches being a close-knit group of guys. I’m also excited to be able to play in the cold weather when I get to NDSCS.”
There is a special connection to NDSCS for Needles High School Mustangs Head Coach Matt Fromelt since it is his alma mater.
“I talked to the coaches at NDSCS and they told me that Doogie was their number one guy and they were excited that they got him,” said Fromelt.
“I’m proud of Doogie for what he’s accomplished and honored that I got to coach him for four years.”
Doogie stated that he’s been working hard to get to this moment in his football career.
“When I got a shot to play for the Mustangs I fell in love with the game of football,” said Harvey. “For any student-athlete that would like to compete in college, I would recommend they work hard, take it one game at a time and do good in academics.”
