LAS VEGAS — The season ended for Needles High School’s Lady ’Stangs varsity volleyball team with the first playoff round against the similarly-named team from The Meadows, according to the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association.

The NIAA reported Needles went three-and-out against the Las Vegas school, which remains unbeaten in NIAA 2A South play.

Lincoln County’s Lady Lynx and Lake Mead Christian Academy’s Eagles were still battling it out for second seed from the south when state championship play begins. In the north, the NIAA reported the Yerington Lions defeated the North Tahoe Lakers 3-0; and the Incline Highlanders defeated the White Pine Bobcats 3-0.
