Nearly 4,000 new children’s books arrive at Needles Branch Library

Librarian Joan Meis-Wilson shows off some of the 3,924 new children’s books freshly arrived at the Needles Branch Library. The San Bernardino County Library System, she explained, decided it was time to refresh the young readers’ selections in six of the branches, Needles among them. Packed in 91 boxes on three pallets the new books were in the process of being sorted and shelved. The library’s annual Summer Reading Program rewarding patron perusal with prizes and possibilities continues through Aug. 3. Visit the library, 1111 Bailey Ave. at J Street, Monday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pacific Time; Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library is closed Friday and Sunday.
