Young readers learn boating safety, get free lifejackets

Young readers check out a San Bernardino County Sheriff Department boat at the Needles Branch Library during the summer reading program on July 2. “Deputies had a great time talking with kids about water safety and lifejacket wear at the Needles Library Summer Reading Program,” reported Captain Ross Tarangle, Colorado River Station Commander. “Every child in attendance received a free lifejacket.” The summer reading program continues July 30 with a visit from California Highway Patrol Oficer Joe Medina.
