KINGMAN — The Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission on Wednesday approved the expansion of a Fort Mohave recreational vehicle park.

In its last meeting of 2018, the commission voted to approve a permit for a 6.4-acre parcel north of Boundary Cone Road and east of Chauncey Boulevard to expand a manufactured home and recreational vehicle park in Fort Mohave.

In other action, the commission approved a rezone of a 1.06-acre lot south of Corona Road and east of Huntington Road. The rezone is from general commercial to commercial manufacturing, open lot storage, to allow for a warehouse in Fort Mohave.

The commission also approved a change of the language in its bylaws to reflect moving call of the public to the beginning of the commission’s agenda. The call to the public was added in April 2013.

The commission also elected District 3 Commissioner Mychal Gorden as chairman for 2019. District 5 Commissioner Mehdi Azarmi stepped down as commission chair.

The 10-person commission consists of two members from each supervisor district. Melanie Bruehl and Dale Kelley represent District 2 and Azarmi and Larry Morse represent District 5. There is one vacancy from District 1. The commission meets the second Wednesday of each month.

The planning and zoning issues will go before the county supervisors for approval at their Jan. 7 board meeting. The commission’s vice chair will be appointed at that January meeting.
