Fire along the Colorado River

A fast-moving fire pushed by strong wind and heavy vegetation moved quickly along the edge of the Colorado River across from the Aquarius Casino Resort during the late afternoon on Sunday in Bullhead City. People along the river were able to escape from the fire and several people on personal watercraft used their watercrafts to splash water onto the flames. Some people were removed by boats operated by the Bullhead City Police Department and Bullhead City Fire Department. Vehicles parked along the river were being towed. Goats on nearby Goat Island were attended to as well by employees of the Riverside Resort Laughlin. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
