BULLHEAD CITY — A California man was killed Saturday when his motorcycle was struck head-on by another vehicle near the Bullhead City Walmart store.

Three other people were injured in the crash, police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said.

At around 4 p.m., a southbound Toyota pickup driven by Jolana Sopel, 59, of Colorado, crossed into an opposing lane and collided with Braxton Douglas Lefton’s motorcycle.

Lefton, 24, of Simi Valley, was rushed to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Robert Luna II, 29, and his passenger and girlfriend, Sierra Linenberger, 33, are friends of Lefton and were riding next to him. Police said their motorcycle also went down after Lefton’s was knocked into it by the truck.

The two Simi Valley residents were also taken to WARMC for treatment of unspecified injuries. All three were wearing helmets.

Police said they believe that Sopel suffered a medical episode and lost consciousness, Fromelt said, causing her to leave her lane.

She was taken to Valley View Medical Center for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
