River Valley Homecoming royalty

Sam Evans and Alondra Castro were named River Valley High School’s Homecoming King and Queen in a ceremony Friday night at the Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse. After the coronation, RVHS students enjoyed a dance in the building’s banquet area. Homecoming activities usually center around a football game, but River Valley had to improvise after the scheduled opponent, Kingman Academy of Learning, pulled the plug on its season because of low participation numbers. RVHS Principal Dorn Wilcox said the theme for the evening was “There’s No Place Like Homecoming.” The fieldhouse was decorated in a “The Wizard of Oz” motif, complete with a yellow brick road.
