BULLHEAD CITY — Thomas Salerno resigned last week from his position as chief executive officer of Western Arizona Regional Medical Center.
“Members of the board of trustees, medical staff and administration will participate in the search to identify an individual to fill this important role permanently,” said Hilda Perez, WARMC marketing coordinator.
No reason for Salerno’s resignation was given.
Salerno took over as chief executive of the hospital in 2016, after serving for four years as CEO of St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, Calif. His 30 years of experience included CEO at Anaheim General Hospital, St. Luke’s Health System in Phoenix and California hospitals in San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, Whittier and Santa Ana.
Mike Stenger will join the hospital as interim CEO, Perez said.
“Stenger has more than 30 years of healthcare administration experience, serving in numerous leadership roles at hospitals and healthcare facilities across the country,” Perez said.
