STUDENT-ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT: Delgado leads Dust Devils by example

River Valley High School varsity kicker and punter Johnny Delgado prepares to practice an onside kick Sept. 4 during the Dust Devils’ football camp at Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse in Bullhead City. Delgado, a junior who also is a starter for the RVHS boys soccer team, has connected from 45 yards out, according to football head coach Jonathan Clark. “Johnny is a quality kid with a great family background. He worked a job all summer and still made 100 percent of our summer workouts,” said Clark. Last season, Delgado finished second (behind Zach Hammett) among the Devils’ leading scorers with 47 points. “Johnny leads by example on and off the field, with his work ethic in the classroom and on the gridiron. We are blessed to have him as part of our team,” added Clark.
